My Brown-Eyed Girl, who's obsessed with RED!

I just took these random pictures of Reagan to go along with this post about our conversation on the way to preschool this morning. Here's how it went:

Amanda: Are you going to show Ms. Lisa you're new RED coat today at preschool?

Reagan: Yep, because I LLLOOOOOVVVVVVVEE Red!

Amanda: Today you're going to talk about farm animals. Do you know what kind of animals you find on the farm?

Reagan: Um, a RED barn!

Amanda: That's right, you probably find red barns on farms. What about the animals that live in the red barn?

Reagan: Um, RED roosters!

Amanda: Very good Reagan! What other animals live on a farm?

Reagan: How about red cows? [little chuckle, she cracks herself up!] Cows have black spots.

Amanda: That's right. Sometimes cows are brown.

Reagan: Just like my eyes! I have brown eyes.

Amanda: Yes, you have beautiful brown eyes!

Reagan: Yep, just like Papa. Avery has brown eyes too. But you don't have brown eyes. You have blue eyes. Mama, would you like me to get you some brown eyes at the store so you can be like me and Papa and Avery?

She's so funny. After I took Reagan to Ms. Lisa's, I had to go put down a deposit for a preschool for her to attend next year. Yes, next September. Almost everywhere is FULL for next year! Talk about EARLY! It makes me SO sad that she won't be going to Ms. Lisa next year and she'll be going to more of a school environment, vs. Ms. Lisa's cozy home. BUT, at least Avery will be going to Ms. Lisa's next year, so that makes me happy! Although it's hard to believe my baby will be going to preschool in less than a year!!!

After giving my deposit, I came home, woke up Avery, picked up Reagan from Ms. Lisa's and took them both to Dr. Battista's office. Avery had a fever yesterday and today and she just wasn't acting like herself. She kept arching back, practically throwing herself out of my arms, so it had me nervous that she might have an ear infection.

We went into the exam room and the nurse came in to take Avery's temperature. Avery started screaming and crying, so Reagan stepped right into the comforting Big Sister role ... she started stroking Avery's head, saying "it's okay Avery, I'm right here. I'm right here, Avery. It's okay little sister. I'm right here."

It was a very sweet moment, one that I've witnessed several times, but I must admit, it was nice that someone else got to witness it too (the nurse). Although Reagan has her moments when she's not exactly nice to Avery, she does have a genuinely sweet side that comes out often, sometimes when I least expect it.

Turned out Avery did NOT have an ear infection, so Dr. Battista concluded it's just a virus. Poor little bug-a-boo.

That conversation in the car made me lol - which you know isn't easy for me. Glad Avery doesn't have an infection, but how sweet of little Red Reagan! Darling. Miss you.
