Babysitter Success!

Last night, we did something we'd never done before: hired a babysitter! Why am I blogging about it? Because it was a big deal for us :) I've been wanting to hire a babysitter for a long time, but I never knew how to find someone we could trust. Then my friend Nicole introduced me to some girls that grew up in her neighborhood: two sisters named Danielle and Nicole. Danielle came over last week and met Reagan and Avery, but she's going to school this summer and her time is limited. Her sister Nicole is home from college for the summer and available for babysitting jobs, so I decided to have her come watch the girls for a couple hours.

Since it was our anniversary, I thought it would be nice to go out to dinner with John, just the two of us. Life has been so busy lately, that we haven't had a chance to do this. John's brother and his wife had given me a gift certificate to a local restaurant for my birthday, so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to use it. Nicole came over and Reagan loved her! She didn't cry or make a big production out of our leaving either! Reagan has been a bit of a drama queen lately, so I was worried she might be dramatic when we left, but she was fine. John and I had such a nice time and we went all out for dinner: appetizers, entrees, AND dessert. I couldn't move, I was so full. When we got home, Nicole said both girls were wonderful. She said Avery smiled the entire time and Reagan was an angel! We couldn't have been happier with her report. It's nice to know we now have a really good babysitter we can trust in case we ever need her :)

I would have taken a picture of the girls with the babysitter to post, but I didn't want to scare her off so soon. And since my readers will be bored if my post only has words and no pictures, I thought I'd attach this picture from a few weeks ago. Here's Avery and Reagan at the Community Center for River Vale First Friends on May 18th:

Happy Anniversary Honey!

John and I were married 3 years ago today, so I wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my sweetheart and tell him I couldn't be happier that I married him! I love you John!!

For those of you who don't know our story, John and I eloped to the island of Kauai. Neither of us wanted to bother with all the planning and details of a big wedding. With John's family in New Jersey and Florida, and mine in Utah, we knew it would be difficult to plan a wedding where one side of our family had to travel. Rather than finding a date and location that worked for everyone else, we planned a wedding that was perfect for us. And it was just that, PERFECT. I wouldn't change a thing!

I was sorting through the pictures, trying to decide which ones to post and then figured I'd just show you our wedding album! My sweet sister Camille made us this album and gave it to us as our wedding gift. Camille is a very talented "scrapbooker" (is that a word?!), so I'm happy to show off her beautiful work. I scanned each page of the album, so these pics don't really do it justice.
