I think I first heard about Facebook about a year ago ... my friend Meredith loved it and told me I should get on it. I didn't really know anyone else who was on it, so I didn't see the point in joining. Then in May, my friend Nicole joined. She told me NOT to join and said I should just keep doing my blog - she knew it would be a time-consuming hobby if got sucked into Facebook. I knew she was right and I told her I would hold off as long as possible. Then over the summer, a lot of my friends in Utah started sending me emails, telling me to get on it because everyone from high school was there and it was fun to re-connect. Once again, I tried to avoid it as long as I could, telling myself I was already struggling to find enough time in the day to accomplish everything that needed to get done. I kept pushing it off, saying I'd join after the holidays, once I could breathe and relax.
So, once Christmas was over and I was enjoying a nice, relaxing time at my parent's house in Utah, I took the plunge! I can honestly say I've enjoyed it and it's a pretty cool website. It's been a few weeks now and it's finally winding down (I'm not feeling quite as addicted to it as I first did). Thank goodness. But I feel horrible that my blog has suffered because of it. Well, that's not entirely true ... I've been having some camera/computer issues since we returned, so I haven't been able to download any of my pictures. But I'm working on it and I hope to be right back into my old blogging rhythm in the near future.
Facebook really can be an incredible way to communicate with all the people in your life ... except it's only successfull if everyone you know is on it! So ... to all of you who aren't on Facebook yet, go sign up now!!!!!!!!!! Click on this link to check it out :)
