Nila Came Home!

We were happy to welcome Nila home yesterday, now that her IV antibiotic treatment is finished! The girls were very happy to see her, as were John and I. Unfortunately, it was hard not to notice her weight loss, since she lost 22 pounds while she was in the hospital and nursing home (6 1/2 weeks).

She had fun watching Avery cruise the furniture ... Avery has changed so much while she's been away!

The physical therapist told us it would be best for Nila to avoid stairs, so we finally cleaned out the office so it could be her new bedroom downstairs. John spent the weekend painting it, and of course, it looked like too much fun for Reagan to resist "helping"!

I found her some grubby painting clothes and she was in heaven!

Yes, that's a sweat-soaked shirt on John's back! He was working hard on what turned out to be one of the most humid, muggy days of the year!
