Mom's Night Out

By Sunday night, I was in need of a Mom's Night Out for 2 reasons: 1) I had just spent the last week at home, dedicated to getting Avery on a schedule and sleeping in a crib, and 2) Meredith and Nicole had just returned from family vacations and we all needed to catch up! I picked up Nicole, then we drove to Ridgewood and picked up Meredith. We went to a restaurant called Mediterraneo in Ridgewood and sat outside. It was a gorgeous night with delicious food and fabulous company.

Nicole and Meredith are such wonderful friends to me and I don't know what I'd do without them. As I was posting the above picture, I started thinking about how long I've known these two sweet gals, so I went back to some old picture folders on my computer to investigate. I met Nicole at a park playdate on a Thursday morning last year in August (yeah, I can remember that it was a Thursday - my brain is weird that way) ... she had just come from the pediatrician's office and we realized we went to the same practice. The next night was a Mom's Night Out at a Mexican restaurant in Glen Rock. Nicole was going and since she lived in Westwood, I asked if I could hitch a ride. There ended up being 6 of us there that night and we had such a great time!

It was a great group of moms that night, and I'm so glad I've gotten to know each one of them better since then. Meredith and I had an immediate connection because we were both pregnant. Nicole and I also hit it off, talking about her job doing Early Intervention and my old job in the resource room. That night, I checked out Christie's website and scheduled my first photo shoot with her soon thereafter. I see Sara each month at book club and she just had a baby girl a few weeks ago. I see Christine often at playdates and other outings and I can honestly say that she is one of the nicest people I've ever met.

That night, I sat in between Nicole and Meredith and we took this picture ... I just realized that it was exactly 1 year ago from the picture above! Both were taken on August 10th. Too funny.
