I can't help but smile when I watch this video of Reagan. I took it this afternoon and I think it's hilarious! This is such a fun age because Reagan has some pretty funny pronunciations of different words, for example, the word "spoon." She's always pronounced it like this: soom. This evening, we were headed out to do some quick shopping, so I needed to feed her dinner quickly. I decided to make her a peanut butter sandwich. As soon as I had the peanut butter out, she asked if she could have some on a "soom." I've been trying to help her say the word correctly, but she has trouble blending the sounds of the letter S and the letter P in spoon. Today, instead of just repeating the word "spoon" over and over, I decided to break it down into the individual sounds of the letters. Once I got her to say "poon," I had her put the "s" sound at the beginning. As you'll see in the video, we were both cracking up!
Just before I took this video, she had found a brown headband and she put it in her hair upside down ... the little white thing you see on the top of her head is the tag from the headband.

This next video is dear to my heart because it was one of those moments that you can rarely catch on video. I was sitting at the computer in the toy room with my back to both Avery and Reagan. Reagan had taken the invitation to Harry's birthday party and she was coloring in all the words with a blue marker. She was talking to herself here and there and suddenly I realized what she was saying: "Thank you God for the gift of Mama." I wasn't sure if I heard her correctly, so I impatiently waited a little while to see if she'd say it again. Sure enough, she said this short phrase several more times, with a long pause in between. I was baffled because I've never heard her say this before. I kept wondering if this was part of the prayers John says with her at night. Not wanting to forget her exact words, I quietly slipped out of the toy room, into the kitchen and grabbed my camera. I came back in and turned it on, hoping she'd keep saying it. The video I captured was just over 3 minutes, so I cut out a little bit of the silent time to get it down to 2 minutes (as I've said before, I had to sacrifice quality for length, since Blogger never lets me download any video over about 50 seconds ~ if it's longer than that, I have to turn it into a streaming file of lower quality to reduce the size of the file). I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did :)
Wasn't that sweet? John thinks she was combining her prayers with these two books we have about prayers, since he's never used those exact words before.
You're probably thinking, "what kind of wacky picture is this and why did Amanda post it to her blog?" I just downloaded the pictures from my iPhone and when I came across this one, it was too bizarre not to share. I sometimes give Reagan my iPhone so she can watch a show on it while I do her hair in my bathroom (I've downloaded episodes of Dora, Blue's Clues, Mickey Mouse Club House, Backyardigans, etc. and they have saved me a few times when I've really needed to keep her occupied! ~ as I've said before, I LOVE my iPhone!!). Anyway, she quickly figured out how to navigate my iPhone and do all sorts of fun things with it, taking pictures being one of them. The reason I'm posting this picture is because I honestly don't understand how she managed to get a shot of my foot, my purse, my camera, Avery's arm and part of her face, as well as the reflection of a toy in the mirror in the background. I must have been either stepping down, or lifting my foot up ... I just think it's so weird that she managed to get a picture of my toes in mid-air, right next to Avery's face. All I'm saying is that I doubt anyone could replicate a picture like this if they tried!
