Weekend Wrap Up

John was out of town in Florida last week for 4 days, so I was very busy taking care of Reagan, Avery and a house with 3 dogs :) Actually, I was hardly home at all ... here are some of the ways we passed the time without Papa. On Thursday evening, I took the girls on a walk with my friend Nicole and her kids Mia and Bennett. Nicole lives in Westwood (the next town over) which has plenty of attractions for the kids. We walked into town, watched the train come into the train station, then walked to the little lake that has a bridge. It was fun to see the geese with their babies. Reagan wanted to go down to the edge of the water so that she could try to catch one. In the following picture, she was saying, "The babies are soooooo tiny!" She often does this gesture where she puts her index fingers together ~ it's the cutest thing! On Friday, we had our third TPG (Toddler Play Group) at Mary's house in Ridgewood. The theme was ANIMALS, which Reagan pronounces: a-mi-nals.

Here is Avery with the bear that Reagan brought ... each child was asked to bring an animal or a picture of a pet.

Here are the kids listening to the story about a dogs who went to play at a park.
Snack time! Here's Reagan, Mia, Timmy and William eating their snack (Pirate's Booty, although Timmy was enjoying a cucumber)
Here's Reagan giving me an enthusiastic "CHEESE!"

Thank goodness we had TPG on Friday morning, since it was the highlight of the day ... it was a very soggy, rainy day. We went home, changed into sweats and spent the rest of the day inside. I was so happy to wake up on Saturday morning to see the sun shining! I went to my second Strollercize class with Meredith and Julie (both in TPG) and had an incredible workout. After the class, we hung out by the pond and watched the geese with their babies.

Reagan decided to give the goose a snack, since it was practically begging for it. I took this picture then made Reagan move farther away from the goose.

We took a drive to LaGuardia airport on Saturday evening to pick up John ... unfortunately, we hit a lot of traffic getting over the George Washington Bridge due to the baseball game at Yankee Stadium. The girls were very patient, sitting in their carseats, although Reagan was quite antsy toward the end of the trip. We stopped at one of our favorite family restaurants for dinner, Houlihan's.
Reagan and her Papa ... John and Reagan have such a special bond. They both missed each other terribly, so it was sweet to see them sitting together, enjoying each other's company.
Reagan was so cute when I held up the camera for this photo ... she leaned into John and posed.

Before our food came, I fed Avery a whole container of Stage 1 Pears. It was the first time she finished a whole container of baby food ... I was telling John that night that she finally "gets it" with the solid foods. It seemed like it would never happen, since she didn't seem to like the cereal ... but now that I've introduced several fruits, she's finally taking it and she seems to like it.

On Sunday, we all stayed in our pajamas and hung out at home, enjoying having Papa home. I was cleaning up the playroom, going through all of our toys, so I put Avery here in Reagan's Dora Futon. Reagan sat down next to Avery and they both watched Toy Story 2. I love seeing Reagan and Avery together. Avery watches Reagan's every move and Reagan is such a sweet and loving big sister. I'm so happy they'll have each other to grow up together!

Those pictures with John and Reagan are so precious. And I love the Futon.
