John has known his friend Lou Barraza since he was 10 years old. Over 7 years ago, Lou and his wife Lauren asked John to be the godfather of their first son, Rutger (named after Lou's alma mater Rutgers University). 
Now Rutger is finishing the 2nd grade and he just had his First Holy Communion. We went to their home in Westfield (about an hour south of us) following the communion today to celebrate with their family. Here are some pictures from the fun afternoon.
Lou's wife Lauren was very thoughtful and sweet to give gifts to all of the kids. Reagan was so happy playing with this pink princess ball the entire time!

Zander (4), Rutger (7 1/2) and Reagan (2) ... When John and I were first dating, he took me to meet Lou, Lauren and Rutger. Lauren was extremely pregnant with Zander, ready to pop any day. It's hard to believe that was 4 years ago and now we have 2 kids of our own! They are such a nice couple with two very well-behaved sweet boys.
