So, all last week, I was looking forward to taking Reagan and Avery to River Vale's annual breakfast with the Easter Bunny. We took Reagan last year and she loved it! (look back to one of my first posts to see a picture). At one of our "First Friends" meetings (a playgroup through River Vale that introduces children to the kids they'll eventually go to school with), I was given a list of upcoming events for our town. I thought it said the breakfast was on Saturday, March 15th. So on Friday night before Reagan went to bed, I told her all about the breakfast and she was so excited to sit on the Easter bunny's lap. Before I went to bed, I tried to look on River Vale's website, just to double check the time (I didn't want Reagan to miss her age group's Easter egg hunt), but unfortunately, our internet was down.
Saturday morning, I showered, got dressed, did my hair, and put on my make-up (for those of you with two small kids, you'll realize this is a huge accomplishment!), then loaded the family into the car. When we pulled up to the school and saw very few cars, my heart sank. I realized I must have had the date wrong. Reagan was devastated. She started into a chant, "Easter bunny, Easter bunny, Easter bunny..." and wouldn't stop. I started calling friends and malls, trying to find an Easter bunny.
We ended up at Paramus Park Mall. When we walked up to the area with the bunny, there was a short line with only 2 young kids. As the parent took the first little girl to the bunny, she screamed, so they left. The second child (after watching the first girl scream), started crying too. I guess this freaked out Reagan a little, since she refused to sit with the Easter bunny alone ... she insisted that I stay with her.
Of course, it wouldn't make sense to make a special trip to the mall, just to see an Easter bunny, and then not get a picture of it ... so we were scammed into spending $32 to get two 5x7 prints and a disc, so we could have the picture in digital form. And if you're thinking I wanted it in digital form just so I could post it to this blog, you're absolutely right! So here it is, the $32 picture that isn't very flattering of any of us!

Luckily, I'll be able to take Reagan to see the Easter bunny next Saturday, right here in River Vale! I came home yesterday and frantically searched for the flyer, sure that I could blame the mistake on someone else - it had to have been a typo, right? Wrong. The flyer had the correct date all along. In my defense, the item above the Easter bunny was on the 15th, and the item listed below the Easter bunny was a "15th" Anniversary event. I guess I just had the number 15 on the brain ... here, you can judge for yourself:

Anyone could have made the same mistake, right?? I'll blame it on my "mommy brain"!
Anyway, after seeing the Easter bunny, we took advantage of being in the only mall in the northern part of New Jersey that has one of my favorite fast food places,

After eating lunch, I told John we might as well go look for Easter dresses for the girls, so we headed to one of my favorite children's stores,

Although I'm SURE I'll be posting pictures of the girls in their dresses next week after Easter, I just had to share a picture of the cute dress we picked out. I couldn't resist buying them the exact same dress, since this will be the first time I ever dress them in matching outfits:

Oh no! But hey, at least you had your hair and makeup done for your picture with the Easter Bunny AND you have something to do next weekend. :)
