Books and Dress-Ups

Right now, Avery is 16 1/2 months old and Reagan is 3 years and 4 months old. Avery has discovered the wonderful world of BOOKS and she is constantly picking them up and handing them to John and me, begging for us to read to her. And Reagan is still loving the world of dress-ups and princesses, therefore she insists on wearing a dress every single day. Since I don't have that many dresses for her, I'm doing a lot of laundry!

I promise that this photo was not staged or set up ~ this is exactly how I found them! Avery has discovered the big box of books in the playroom and she loves to empty out each and every book. This picture is funny because the book is upside down :) (although she usually turns it over and looks at it right-side up).

SMILES!

One of Reagan's favorite movies is Enchanted ... okay, I'll admit, it's one of my favorite movies too! We both love the song Giselle sings in Central park, "How does she know" and I often have it stuck in my head for DAYS after I watch the movie.

Reagan's favorite dress-up dress is this Cinderella dress that Benee and Camille gave her for her birthday. She wears it almost every day. I've already had to sew it in several places because it's been so worn out!
Here's Reagan on a different day, in the same dress ... she decided to bury herself in books!
I took a picture of this completed floor puzzle because I was so proud of Reagan ... I started it by doing the top row, but she finished it almost all by herself! This dinosaur puzzle consists of 48 pieces and we'd only done it 1 or 2 other times, so I was very impressed!
My next door neighbors (the Trimms) recently went to Utah to ski. They met up with my parents and had dinner with them one night, so my mom gave Lizzie gifts to bring the girls. She made these adorable poodle skirts for Reagan and Avery!

Whenever Reagan has her skirt on, Avery finds hers and brings it over to me, then grunts (which means she's asking me to put it on her). Dancing together

Lately, Reagan has been obsessed with the dogs, especially Verdell. She loves playing with him and sometimes tortures the poor dog. She holds onto his collar and drags him all over the house. He's so patient and good with her. Sometimes she asks me to put his leash on him and she walks him from room to room. She also sets up beds for the dogs, lined with lots of stuffed animals to make them comfortable. On this day, she tried to get them to lay down under the blankets, but they weren't being very cooperative. She finally laid down herself, trying to coax them into joining her.
The other day, John found Reagan holding the entire bag of grapes from the fridge and she was trying to feed them to Verdell. John asked what she was doing and she said, "I need to feed Verdell so he can grow up big and strong!" Apparently, she thought Verdell was the smallest dog because he isn't a good eater. I tried to explain that dogs have their own kind of food and they're not supposed to eat our food, especially grapes.
