A Wild and Crazy Saturday Night!

This week was a very busy week, especially for John, which meant that the responsibility of Reagan and Avery mostly fell on me. I'm not complaining, since I absolutely adore my beautiful girls, but it meant that I didn't have much time to take care of a lot of other things. When you have a baby and a 2 year old, one thing that is very difficult to do is go grocery shopping. For the most part, I usually enjoy grocery shopping, as long as I have plenty of time to do it. I like to make lists before I go, and then walk up and down each aisle to make sure I don't forget anything. I especially enjoy it when I have a new recipe that I'd like to make.

Anyway, Lizzie and David Trimm (our next door neighbors from England) invited us to attend a SuperBowl party at their house. Since this is their first SuperBowl experience, I wanted to prepare some tasty appetizers to take over there. I asked all my friends for recipes, and finally decided to make 3 dishes: Traditional 7 Layer Dip, Bacon-Wrapped Dates, and Spinach Balls.

By the time I got out the door, it was 6:40 on a Saturday night and I was looking forward to a little quiet time at the grocery store. As soon as I got in the car, my phone rang and it was my friend Nicole. To my surprise, she was also on her way to the store, so we decided to meet at the A&P in Park Ridge to do our shopping together! So there we were, two moms, each with 2 kids at home with their daddies, decked out in our sweats, enjoying some adult time while tackling our shopping lists! Of course, I just had to take a picture, so I took this one of Nicole with my iPhone while we were in the cheese section (how appropriate!):

We had a great time grocery shopping together, then we went across the street to Dunkin Donuts for lattes. Most people wouldn't consider this to be a very exciting Saturday night, but it was a lot of fun and exactly what I needed ... I came home feeling rejuvenated. Thanks Nicole :)

I'm sure I'll take some pictures at the SuperBowl party, so I'll follow up with a post about how my appetizers turn out ... we'll see if they're a touchdown or if they deserve a penalty flag. Yes, I'm cheesie, and it's way too late ~ Goodnight!

Hope you have a good time at your Super Bowl Party. Don't be too disapointed when the Pat's win! Haha...it should be a good game.
