Camera issues ... SO many posts to catch up on!

Oh, if you only knew the anxiety I have, watching January slip away, knowing I have so many things to post about!! As most of my loyal readers know, I rarely go more than 3 or 4 days without updating my blog, so maybe you're wondering why I've been such a slacker ... I MUST explain, since I can't have people thinking this is how things will be in the future.

I really do have a legitimate excuse: I now have 2 cameras, both of which are full of pictures, but I have no way of downloading them onto the computer. AARRRGGGHHHHH!!!! First camera: my old Canon Powershot SD900 (my small point-and-shoot that goes everywhere with me): I wrapped the USB cord around the battery charger and stuffed it in the outside pocket of my suitcase as we were packing on Christmas day to head to Utah. When I got to Utah, it was gone. There's no doubt in my mind that someone in security/baggage at Newark airport opened up the zipper and stole it. I don't mean to sound accusatory or like a conspiracy theorist, but I know where I put it and it couldn't have fallen out. What a drag. The battery charger costs $50 and they are for sale all over ebay, so whoever took it could definitely make a few bucks by selling it. So, I haven't been able to use that camera ever since the battery died. I've ordered a new charger, but it still hasn't arrived in the mail yet. Second camera: my new Canon Digital Rebel (my new SLR camera that I bought from my professional photographer friend Christie). I have always used the USB cable to download pictures from my cameras ... when I tried to download the pics to my mom's computer in Salt Lake, the computer wouldn't recognize the camera. I had to go to Canon's website and download the driver. It was all rather easy and I was able to update my blog while I was on vacation. Once I got home, I tried to download that same driver onto my home computer. It would NOT work! I tired EVERYTHING, but all my efforts were hopeless. So, I followed Christie's advice and purchased a Card Reader ... Christie has always used a card reader to get her photos off of her memory cards. She said it's extremely fast. I hope so, because when I downloaded the pics from this new camera onto my parent's computer, it took about an hour because the files were so large. Anyway, I have two full memory cards of pictures, but I'm still waiting for the card reader to arrive in the mail. Once it finally comes, I'll have countless hours of time on the computer, updating my blog with all the pictures from the last few weeks. Still to come: our last week in Salt Lake, Dinner with the Arbadji's, TPG Family night, and Joaquin's birthday party. So please don't lose faith in me yet :)
